Default Tail Shaft Bearing

I have an engine noise that the dealer says is a tail shaft bearing going bad . This item is on national back order and i still havent recieved it. Has anyone had this problem?

tail shaft bearing? Where is the bearing located? Hopefully the dealer doesn't say the tail shaft.

tell you the truth i have not a clue what they are talking about and i talked to them today and they said the part will cost 829 dollars so i guess they are talking about the tail shaft????

sorry that 200 for part plus install is 829

Im guessing it is the bearing that sits in the end of the transmission that hold the output shaft in place. I know SR20 trannies have this problem alot. Or at least my friends who run them have.

ask them what part of the car the part is for, rear end/differential, transmission, etc.

It's the first I've heard of failing, unless it's related to the differential.

Should he check if all of his propeller shaft bolts are there? An unbalanced shaft would be hell on the bearings.

yup..
if the drive shafts arent balanced... you will notice...

has you driveshafts been removed/ replaced?
