Re: (blanco2314)
seriously this is liek that same threads 350vs s2k, evo vs. s2k, blah blah blah...
comparing the 2 is a never ending battle, some guys prefer SC others a turbo, others NOS, some N/A....
they all have pros and cons research each one to the fullest, look at the budget you have to work with along with resources.

have you heard of a turbonator? get one of those.
The Turbonator is much less expensive and more efficient than any turbocharger, supercharger, blower, or intercooler. Its superior design can increase mpg too!

actually, there is a big debate on whether a well tuned itb setup is infact, better then f/i.
it has yet to be proven though.

i guess it can be if you consider slower being better
plan and simple a turbo will have much more potenchiel in power production than a super charger. if you want lots of power go turbo. i dont even know why people are telling you to go NA what everyone can see that you want a fast car.
2800+ lbs car + 91 octane+NA +2.0 4 cilinder= slow no matter how you build the engine.

that all depends on the purpose of the car......

yeah, also make sure you just make ungodly amounts of horsepower for your S, because the more horsepower you have, the faster you are right?

OHH **** LOOKS WHOS BACK! MUAH!
I eat these threads for breakfest AHHA..hmm let's see well first of all you got some ***** to even post this type of thread so props. Secondly think long term for a second here think about what you are getting out of your S @ the moment, & then take that out of the picture and think long term. You have a nicely built racecar your driving daily/weekend etc. that is tuned out out the box for performance. Take advantage of it Stock while you can do a HELLA of a lot of research READING calculate a budget you think is reasonable for you. THEN DO IT!
BOLT ONS vs MODIFACTIONS*
Honestly if your serious about Forced Induction you shouldnt even have posted this untill you have at least gotten some serious funds saved or finish your DRug runz......Anyway most people who buy a S are satisfied with basic bolt ons and some final drives, ever think about that?
But if your serious about this BE PREPARED to fork over some mad cash to get these types of setups tuned out the ***! GOT TO KEEP IT TUNED, no matter what setup. Think to yourself if this is practical now or even in 5 years will you still have your S. You just see a couple websites with boosted S2000's and get an idea which is cool. Honestly s2ks are an adiction moding them is just fuel on the fire.
Turbo vs SC
Now to my personal opinions on this I have posted waay back on getting my s2000 boosted with LoveFab GT1 Turbo it has been almost 2 years, and Im still saving...Personally I choose Turbocharger over Supercharer.
1. Some people say boost is boost. Meh to an extent yes but they both have their pros and cons. Turbo thinks outside the box or ci/displacement of the stock motor. Lets you kind of see the car in a totally diff way with hp/torq and satisfaction. Most people who boost a stock motor & who have serious money and are looking for mad power end up boring out their stock motor.
2.SC is well balanced with power gains as well, but the setup is completely different. Rapid amount of FORCED air/compression (Turbo) vs a belt directly to the crankshaft of your engine to maximize cintripital force (SC). Come on I'm not saying that neither wear and tear on your engine/tranny (due to misshifts with the excessive amount of hp gains) because they both do. But realisticly SC dont have as must lag as Turbo but it robs the torque quite a bit compared to Turbo back to the beginning TUNING Is everything 75 shot of NOS will fix that lag right good haha nah.
Anyway back to your funds again Turbo LONGTERM will clean your pockets a hella of a lot more than SC, upgrading boost vs lowering pulley rates is totally different in gains and $$$. My best bet to you is SAVE your money THINK of what is practical & logical, if you see this possible then do it bro. It's always nice to see a s2k screaming @ 9000RPM with a LOVEFAB GT1 or VORTECH SC under the hood.
..I know this is like two threads in one, but if someone doesnt post a HUGE *** post with reasoning and the truth these types of threads go on forever leaving our s2k buddy with confusion and a tingling feeling in his pants wondering why cant I have boost! HAHA.
