Just looking for some advice on how to properly clean the crinkle red paint. Just looks to be small amount of oil around filler. Thanks everyone.

um.... just to be safe, i would just try warm water and light soap...

some chemicals can get under the oem coating which could accelerate the common issue of the wrinkle texture flaking over time.

Uh did the degreaser thing on b18c once ate the sh*t off. Anyways thanks HT never disappoints lol.

brake cleaner should work fine and not cause any pealing/flaking

if u really want to be **** about it use dish soap warm water and a tooth brush.

hate to break it to you, but that red paint is going to flake off regardless...and i didnt mean hose your VC in the ****...spray some in a rag and then wipe it off

yes oem coating is thinner than paper... we've all seen them flake off before.

For this reason that's why i prefer polymer powder coating.... uniform in wrinkle texture, thicker than oem, won't soak up oil, won't flake or chip easily & even aircraft stripper cant remove it. lol

Uhh no. Brake cleaner will eat the paint right off the valve cover.
