Bad vibrations
Hey.
I've read a few of the vibration related threads on here, but i wanted to get your opinions.
My car has just started vibrating quite badly. It mainly happens as i apply more throttle, and especially at higher speeds. It's quite a pronounced vibration, and i can feel it through the steering wheel, as well as throughout the car. When i'm only at 5% throttle, or coasting, the vibration seems to go away. The harder i push the throttle pedal, the stronger the vibration.
Yesterday, i didn't notice any vibration, but today it's extremely noticeable.
It doesn't seem to be related to revs at all, just amount of throttle.
I'm thinking it could be CV, or axle, but would it happen that quickly?
All help much appreciated..
Cheers

Re: Bad vibrations
The number 1 culprit of these types of vibrations seem to be the CV buckets. Are you lowered? If so, there's a pretty good chance you might need to swap them from one side to the other.

Re: Bad vibrations
Thanks fellas
I've been lowered for about 5 years, but this just started in the last few days.
I did consider axle spacers, so will look at that.
Is the best fix axle spacers, and swap the CV joint/bucket around? And is it safe to drive (low speed, low km's) until it's fixed?

Re: Bad vibrations
Thanks fellas - axle spacers seem to have completely fixed the issue. The S is now in storage for 6 months while i travel. An air-conditioned secure garage no less
