Curious: why didn't you use fender washers on the back tie bar? It looks like one nut is already partially through the hole.

this are fake Brides from ebay. they are more comfortable than full buckets because they can recline. but like any bucket, they are a pain to get in and out but you get used to it.

the first nut is basically a spacer, the thread are drilled through and i grind it down at an angle to provide a flat surface for the second nut to seat on. i was planning on welding the spacer to the back plate.

here are some pics of the additional brace from the back plate to the roll bar plate, and the spacer welded on.

i thought that there was a harness bar on the hard dog bar, or did you happen to buy one without the harness bar?

btw great install pics. i want a hard dog bar so bad... but i want to try and retain using the stock plastics (modified with removed roll hoops) if its possible

Gotcha: I see the bevel on the nut now. Unusual.

That brace makes it look a lot safer. Does it get in the way of the spare tire on the other side?

the bolt goes through at an angle because the front plate is not parallel to the rear plate. the brace does not interfere with anything but you wont be able to mount the stock roll hoops.

Stock hoops are kinda redundant at that point anyway.
