you mean the "maint req" light? Have the key in the Acc position and hold the...damn i forgot...i think its the trip button. For 10 sec. or 30sec. I use to use Mobil1 Synthetic but i could never tell how much oil i had in the oil pan. So i went back to Honda oil which is regular Mobil 10W30.

i would just change it, especially since the motor got broken with this oil so it had metal flakes, particals the motor "shed" release...i personally would run the next oil change oem honda oil, then at 8-10k go to synthectic.

If you find metal flakes in your oil, you've got problems. I wouldn't be so concerned with "particals the motor 'shed'", that isn't very true.

when my friend rebuilt his motor the first oil change was kinda flaky or glittery, it would be playing it on the safe side,

I've never had FLAKES, just tiny tiny fine particles on my magnetic drain plug.
On both motors, brand new.

glittery goldish flakes mean the bearings are worn past their coating. very very bad!

There's a big difference b/w a factory sealed fresh engine and a rebuilt engine. You change the oil on a rebuilt engine after a few hundred miles, you do not change the oil on a factory sealed new engine until the recommended manufacturer's first service interval.

Since this thread got a little OT, I would like to know how to turn off the maintenance required light. If anybody knows off the top of their head it would be nice to know.
I still have a nice y0shi diagram of how to turn it off in the Type R...wouldn't mind knowing how to do it on this car.
