Hey all,

I was curious to find out what some tell-tale signs are for a coil and distributor going bad??

I'm troubleshooting a major bogging problem I am having with another car I have.

i had a big problem... my rpm's were jumping after 3,000. Well on the speed amitor they were jumping but car was fine. then car started to jurk alot (when driving die's, then starts cuz driving) and all that problem was in the distributor. After i changed that car runs perfect!

Did you change the whole Distributor, or just the housing?

Meaning, did you get the distributor with the ignitor, coil, already inside or did you already have these parts and just replace the distributor housing?

Hope you can understand my question. I am boggled by my no-start problem as well and would like to get to the bottom of it. Tired of buying parts! LOL!

I was having severe bogging issues with my car as well and it came down to the distributor. I checked on the parts I needed and it was about $40 more for a brand new distributor through distributor king. Now no problems.

Just a tip, I had a misfire on my d16z6 and It was a valve that needed adjusting just a tip.
My coil might be bad as well
Because my car Boggs down
Then shuts down after a few mins I'm going to change it out
And let you guys know what happens.

Good to know, but previous posts are dated 2006 and back. So its been about 8 or 9 years since. Not sure if those guys are still active or remember that far back. lol

I'm still new only been on about a year, but still these posts are realy usefull. We never know everything, but together we can do anything. This old post helped me find out that I need a new dizzy for my D16Z6 Vtec motor so thanks to all of you who to make this place great!
