Your pictures don't show much, but it looks like a relay someone added in, could be for any multitude of things. We would pretty much need to know where each wire connects to help.
Probably time to break out wiring diagrams to find out where it is tapped in, and see what it is supposed to be powering. Might be hooked into an alarm, remote start, lights etc.

The relay is not stock, it’s an add-on as part of a jerry-rig to probably get the A/C to turn on.
The added relay is probably used to supply the ground (-) source to the A/C thermostat to get the A/C to turn on. Normally, the Blu/Red wire would be the wire to supply the ground (-) when the A/C switch is ON, and the heater fan switch is in position 1, 2, 3, or 4. The Blu/Red wire runs through to the A/C thermostat's transistor.
The A/C thermostat is essentially a switch to control the A/C clutch cycling. The A/C thermostat for your model year car is principally comprised of a thermal resistor (thermistor) and a transistor (used as a switch).
Someone probably had an issue with a faulty heater control panel not supplying the ground (-) source to the A/C thermostat. So, the added relay is a jerry-rig to supply the ground.
