Default Very odd crank position sensor problem

After I installed my refreshed h22 I got this weird problem when I put my key in. The fuel pump which should pulse for about 2 sec stays on engine off . I hooked up my handy scan tool and code 0335? Crank position sensor circuit. I decided to clear this code just to see if it was a flook. Just I clear it the fuel pump turns off but the code comes back in a sec and the pump starts up again. I decided to unplug the sensor. Pump stops and the code disappears without me clearing it. Well after knuckle busting my hands to get my front cover off my motor. I swap out the sensor for another one I have. Nope same condition. So now I'm asking if anyone knows this fault?

BTW this problem was not there before I pulled the motor for unrelated problem. I pulled the wiring diagram but it seems the 4 wires only got to the ecu .

Is there a ground missing somewhere, or maybe a wire got nicked and is grounding somewhere else? Also is the battery charge good?

Battery is newish deep cycle. As far as grounds I went out today and double checked the grounds. Checked wiring on grounds for broken wires all good. The odds that both sensors are bad I would think pretty high. I do have a third sensor ill try but I'm thinking my ecu is bad.

This is going to sound stupid but did you use the right bolts to re-install the sensor? I say this because when i did my rebuild I had two blocks disassembled in the shop, I just grabbed two of what I thought were appropriate length bolts. What I didn't know is that when I had tightened the bolts they had bottomed out in the holes of the oil pump and the sensor was just hanging there, allowing the sensor pickups to touch the timing gear, I eventually ruined my sensor trying to get the car to crank. This was causing me to throw P0335. I know it's a long shot but it's also something you might not think of. Good luck!

When I installed the second CPS I did double check to use the short bolts enough threads but not to long. What bugs me is the car has been sitting for 5 months since I pulled the motor to fix my fup ie new bearings ect. So the electronics had played no part in the repair. I took out my p28 hondata ecu and decided to run stock ecu to brake in the motor. Going to try another ecu just have to disable the security on the other ecu.

Okay very weird I had planned to check the main relay and check the power dis. I did rewire one of the temp sensors since the wire broke and double checked the grounds to the head. So I turned the key today and it works normally the pump cycles for 2 sec as it should so wtf. I didn't do anything as far as I know to fix it. Go figure

Check ur harness real good. You may have moved it enough to temporarily fix ur problem, you may have some crushed wires. Unplugging sensor and problem going away tells u the PCM is good.
