valve cover is all oily. leaky o-rings?

valve cover is all oily. leaky o-rings?
my valve cover lately on my freinds and i has gotten some oil on it, not spilled by me. is it leaky o-rings? but on his car the spark plugs got all oily too we know that is leaky o-rings but what causes the valve cover to get oily

its near the top left corner of the valve cover and some around the spark plug holes too

If you mean near the distrubutor, it could be the tube seal on the end of the intake camshaft.
On the top of the cover, it could be leaking out of the studs that hold the valve cover down. There's one stud in the center between the cams, and if that's leaking you can just replace the grommets. I don't think oil could ever come up from the spark plug tubes.
