Default Turbo questions

What turbo do you guys think is the best for stock internals? Im not looking to get massive power gains but just enough to give my 95 prelude si a bit more get up and go. I tried asking this on preludezone.com but it seems like they were more interested in criticizing me for not knowing than trying to give any help or answers aside from just being douchebags. Any links are appreciated and any advice aswell. Even a good recommendation on some injectors to match. One last question. Is there a kit that comes with a tuning chip that I can use instead of a dyno since where I live I have no access and the closest one that has said they would work on my honda is 150 miles away. any help answers and advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Figure out how much power you would like and how you would like your power band. Then choose a turbo to accommodate your needs. However don't skimp on your fuel setup and tuning. Find a way to get it on a dyno, or find a good street tuner, and do it right. Every car and every setup will be different and tuning it properly with help with longetivity and how the car will perform

I am going to guess that people on preludezone were jerks because you are asking to be spoon fed.

Boosting an engine takes knowledge and research, and having a good game plan going in.

When you are trying to conserve a stock engine, it is important to have a well made manifold, to avoid boost spiking or creep, so your tune can work properly to run your setup. Having a well sized turbo, some good injectors, etc are also very important.

A tune is going to big a HUGE factor in the reliability of any setup, so if you can't deal with getting the car 150 miles to a good tuner, it may be best to not even mess with a setup like this. There are some good e-tuners, but you are going to be shelling out more for a wideband oxygen sensor, and a tuneable ecu as opposed to a chip style, so that you can do that properly as well.

I would suggest a LOT more research and planning, aka read, read, and read more, instead of just asking for an answer. If that is how you want to do it, just go pay a shop to do the work, that is what they are charging for, experience.

I wouldnt say Im trying to be spoon fed I just dont know where to begin is all but I have decided on the T3 turbo and some 450cc injectors to go with it aswell as a new p28 ecu. yet another question I have is would I need to do any wiring in the dash to convert from obd1 to obd2?

No you will not have to do any wiring. You can buy jumper harnesses that do all the wiring for you. Just plug into your main harness and into your ecu. Also, you will not be able to drive a turbo car with a built or not not built motor, untuned and expect it to last very long. If you don't have access to a dyno and tuner, tow your car to a dyno and fly a tuner in. That is what many of us have to do.
