h22 vtec lude

I have done a few timing belts on my H22 with the hydro tensioner and 2 of the 3 times had the t belt whistling. The first time I did it i reused the original tensioner that came with the car and it was whistling so I baught a new OE tensioner and it didnt whistle anymore. I ended up blowing my motor after about 30 bottles of nitrous and rebuilt it, baught another new tensioner and its whistling again. has anyone else had this problem? While I installed it i had the tension of the belt opposite the tensioner and then pulled pin on tensioner and spun motor 360 counter clockwise.... Am i going about it the wrong way? Any info would be appreciated.. I dont want to do it again and have it making noise! Thanks

Use a manual tensioner.

the whistling noise is normal at first. New timing belts makes some noise until they are broken in.

Yea new belts make noise. And i second the manual tension conversion. Its alot more reliable.
