I just bought a timing belt kit for my 1994 honda prelude Si H23 from gates I believe the tensioners and belts are OE but I don't believe the water pump is. Its made in China and has a plastic or some sort of composite impeller. Think its any good?
Gates makes our belts. They are top quality. I'm not sure if they make our water pumps. They actually set a timing belt kit that includes a water pump.
Always buy Original Honda parts for critical components of the vehicle such as the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, etc.
Do you know where to buy an all OEM honda timing belt kit? Because I dont, when you look up OEM timing belt kit on google for my car you get the gates kit that I bought. Like I said the belt and tensioners are OE but im not sure if the water pump is and if it isn't where would you get one for my car?

This is what I bought below. Yeah im not sure on the water pump either, they only thing that threw me off is that it has that plastic impeller I have never seen that before. Im probably going to use it as I cant really find anything that seems to be better.

Damn, I pretty much gave away a brand new honda h23 water pump a couple months ago cuz it wasn't returnable and nobody wanted it. Coulda sent it to to u instead.
Anyways Gates is a super-reputable company that supplies belts for OE production but alot of people used to swap the Gates pumps in the kit for electric Golden Eagle pumps that added 5 to 7 horses. The hitch is u have to manually turn them on via switch but hey, it'd be something cool. I used to daily my lude, don't anymore, but if she makes it to the next timing belt I'm gonna give that electric pump a try.
If not, I'm sure the one in your kit will be fine but I personally use Aisin pumps. They're made in Japan, which is a good place to buy critical parts from. My .02

Yes, a Honda dealership would offer Original Honda parts. You can risk it and go with the unknown water pump or simply go to the dealership and order a Honda water pump. Just my .02. Good luck
