Default Speedometer problem

i have 92 4ws prelude. my speedometer wont work. i checked fuses and could not find any that were bad. this morning the speedometer worked for about 10 miles then it just went back to zero and stayed. WHat could it be??? Please help!

Check the connection to your VSS (vehicle speed sensor).....and search

what should i do to it? the odometer doesnt work either and the check engine light is on.

Unplug it and look for rust/corrosion on the little pins and make sure the wires are still plugged into the harness correctly. Also remove the VSS itself and inspect it...you'll need a loooooooooooooooooooooooong extension, but it's just one 10mm bolt.

If everything looks fine, then plug it back in tightly and see if that helps. I jacked with this same problem myself for like 2 yrs before I finally go it 100% fixed

i had that problem ounce and the speed sensor broke on the transmission so that could be your prob also

I had kinda the same problem. My speedo would work until i reached 35mph and then it would fall to zero. Or sometimes it would keep bouncing back and forth from 0 to whatever my speed i was going. It turned out that the harness had somehow gotten loose
