Update;

So my build has been postponed for about a month or so because I moved to a new home. So I havent been online much lately, this will be my last update for a little while.

Here is the finished relocation, I dont own a trunk mat at the moment. Im getting some new plates before I register my car at my new address. Ive had 2 toll bridge tickets for this car last year, which it hasnt ran in over 2...

Moving day

Hey everyone! Ive been MIA for months now and just thought Id say whats up. I moved, have a new job, new phone, feels like a new life. Lots of things have been changing and the prelude was set on the back burner.

But Im hoping to here in the next few months "especially before winter" to have it up and on the road. Everything was in storage, and the lude is still tarped waiting to be picked back up. Im waiting for a nice day and a day off of work to line up so I can go detail the **** out of it and trailer it home.

So here my new update, I tried to get a few pics in while doing stuff.

On the way towing it home, my two most precious possessions in one pic.

I managed to get it home in one piece, now it was time to start putting it together.

My supervisor, he oversaw me install new rear hub assemblies and new slotted and dotted rotors. I had a issue with one of the slides being siezed, but managed to pry it free with a huge pipe wrench. The slide was rusty as hell... but then again the car has sat a few years now. Cleaned and lubed everything up, replaced what needed replacing.

I added some more stickers under my hood. Ive read somewhere once online that there worth 5hp per sticker, look at all them horses!

I've been putting in work the last few days, now I have her ready to drop in. I need a knock sensor, and a few little seals and small parts here and there. Pretty much nickle and diming me to death at the moment.

I want to powder coat the VC later, but for now some password washers and Mugen oil cap makes it look decent.

Im getting closer!!!!

-----Hey I added a Bunch of New Pictures to the first post on the first page FYI----

I got a few more things done today. The drivers side mount bracket on the h23aV, doesnt fit prelude mounts... I had to dig through everything to find my old h22A4's. The mount brackets are the same but the accords bolts are closer, and has a longer casting just for the top belt plastic cover screw-bolt lol... Its on secure enough anyhow, im not worried about it.

The 4th gen PS pump bracket fits as well, although I want to see how well its going to work once I find a crank pulley.

My AC pump goes where the H23aV's electric steering motor was under the alternator. Im going to see if the steering motor bracket would work as a AC bracket, because I apparently dont have one anywhere...

I also installed my euro-r mani onto the head. The plan is to have the entire thing wired up and then drop it in plug-n'-play style.

Knock sensor, crank pulley, TPS, starter, front mount, tires, tune, and random little things is all I really need. Been cleaning the bay out as well, trying to get that all prepped for the new engine. Might as well do what I can now, it would be a pain to later with a engine in there.

Looking good. I may have an a/c bracket from an H22a4, let me know if you would like me to check.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that let my build sit for 2+ years haha. My thoughts:

Dislikes- Wing with 3rd brake light, sun roof

Loves- motor build, clean bay+interior, and the fact it's a 4th gen. Best looking Prelude by far!

P.S. What method did you use to press the plugs into the oil pump housing for the BS delete?

I love the wing brake light lol. Actually I seen a 4th gen at night with both the wing and window 3rd brake lights and thought it was badass looking. Ive been thinking of getting one for my window as well. I have the rear fog too. Im a fan of oem lights apparently, I want my **** to light the world up lol.

Thanks! 4th Gen FTW!

I had a local shop just press it in for free. They didnt quite understand what I wanted on the phone, and told me to bring it in, and if its as easy as I say they would do for free. Went in, 5 minutes later I had it back. They just use a press and push it in.

Ah I didn't think of how it might look at night in for night pics with a "prelude" window light

Hey everyone! Its been a few months since my last update so I figured I would give it a go!

So I said f*ck the T2W4, and went for a legit dog-box trans;

I bought some 1.75" drop springs, wishing now that I went for more drop. I think when the engine and trans as well gas in the now empty tank. It will sit lower, even more so when the springs settle. I also finally got some tires on my wheels. I plan on plastidipping them gloss black to match the rest of the trim. Ive been told it looks good gold, but i cant decide.

I got down with tooth brushes, wire brushes, chemicals and a garden hose. Its as clean as its going to get lol. I did a little touch up with some semi gloss black paint on a few little items, Im hoping to do more with color code in the near future.

I went to go put the fidanza 8lb flywheel on and realized I didnt have bolts... It was a auto trans engine so no flywheel came with it, and i scrapped the old ones lol.. So then when they came in I heated up the flywheel, test fit, then installed.

The clutch aligning tool became stuck after torquing to spec lol.. I pulled and pulled, and nothing. So I loosesned it up and greased the tool. Realigned clutch and torqued down. Then it came out with a little pulling afterwards

After the clutch was on, with a little love tap persuasion from a rubber mallet my trans popped on!

So I plan on heat wrapping my PLM header. I went with Titanium 2" 50' roll, figured that would be enough. I live in the Nw and it rains a lot, wrap soaks up moisture. I painted this with header/caliper paint to seal it before I wrap it. Lots of people paint over the wrap but I dont plan too.

Anyhow thanks to anyone who has been fallowing me.

What clutch cover is that? And do you have any concerns about the ring gear separating from the aluminum flywheel?

Lolz @ the dox-box ;P

P.S. Stay with gold. Definitely looks good with that green

Its a Exedy stage 2 clutch kit.

I havent heard anything about ring gears separating as a common issue. The only problem is people put locktite on the crank before installing flywheel to try and stop it from coming off. Doing so doesnt allow the flywheel to properly seat on the crank after the first use which causes issues. Fidanza has a big red WARNING in the instructions not to do this. I used arp flywheel bolts to hopefully prevent any backing out.

Thanks, ya I have no choice but to tune. Ive changed way too much not to, and have a d series ecu lol... Its chipped, socketed, and has Neptune RTP Moates Demon datalogger though.

I havent found a local shop that tunes with neptune... They all are only chrome, and a few with hondata.

So Im most likely going to get a chrome base map made local, break in everything and drive up to Tacoma to let Speed-Factory have a wack at tuning it. They have tuned lots of cars with Neptune.

Thanks! Its nice seeing it finally come together!

Here is a couple pics from tonight, trying to get everything buttoned up. My first attempt at wrapping a header, think it turned out alright. I wasnt digging the itchy fibers of fiberglass though... Had no idea it was like that lol...

Yeah wrapping exhaust is not fun. I always wet it first, helps to keep the splinters down, and lets it stretch, so when it dries it is super tight.

What is that odd looking reservoir by the passenger shock tower? I'm not really familiar with ludes but I haven't seen that on any car. ABS maybe?

I thought all ludes came with ABS...

I soaked it, before I did **** was airborn lol... I couldnt find any gloves so I did bare handed which was dumb too. I ended up wrapping it a few times to try and keep it tight. I believe if I started from scratch again I could have done a better job, but thats life.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I finally got around to plasti-dipping the wheels gloss black. Im happy with how it turned out. I was kind of bummed out today when I noticed a small bubble on the side wall of one of the tires... I believe it was because the tires sat under the car without moving for awhile... So now Im going to have to replace the one tire before I dip the last wheel...

Other then that I made decent progress today, now I just need to figure out where all the hoses go and get around to soldering my harness. Its the little things now, and the constant trips to the wrecking yard and parts store that killing me... Im over the whole building part for now and just want to start the damn thing!!!.....
