spare key? learn key?
Holy crap.... So today i went to Honda to try to get a spare key for my lude, and to my surprise... you need the learn key, and wen i baught the car, it never came with a learn key, just a black one... so i asked the technician how i could get around the no learn key situation.. and he tells me i would have to replace the whole lock system which would cost over 800$ for parts and how ever long the labor would take.
anyone know if theres another way to by pass? or anything you can do? i really dont feel like spending 800++ on replacing the locks n new key system.
if i loose this key.. im screwed

They have to re flash your ecu and keys... its like a 60 buck job at least here it is... they should cut you a replacement key take your car into the shop flash the codes into the ecu and onto the new and old keys... you dont have a learn "key"

The Prelude immobilizer is a little different from the more modern systems in the newer cars. Best thing you can do is either swap to an OBD2 P13 (no immobilizer), or tap the wires for the immobilizer, hook up the sensor ring, then tape a key to it and hide it somewhere. Lots of J32 swapped guys do it that way
