Someone spray painted my Prelude
I park in the street most of the time, in the morning I went to put my car in so I could check my trunk for any water since it just rained and I have a water leak, as I was checking my coolant, oil, etc I noticed this, big line of white paint on the side of my lude, I was devastated, I know I don't have beef with anyone and I live in a very good neighborhood. Some people are so low, I'm thinking it was some kids who did it because sometimes our trash cans come back spray painted. Not a good day so far, someone almost crashed into me as I was turning into my house earlier and I had my blinker on. I would never mess with anyone's car knowing how much time and money they put into it. I tried to take it off with some goo gone and it seemed to work. I'm just hoping it doesn't happen again, if it does I know someone is ****** with me and it won't end up nicely if I catch them. I once knew this guy who had a 08 Civic Si and someone threw a brick through his back window and shattered it, some people really hate Hondas.

Re: Someone spray painted my Prelude
My friend bought a VW rabbit once. So we painted the whole thing pink when he was inside.
We laughed and laughed.
Sorry about your prelude, though. Hopefully you can claybar it away. It doesn't look like spray paint.

I think It's Plasti-Dip. Who walks around tagging with Plasti Dip? I think it was intentional. I think I know who it was.

Looks pretty easy to remove.
First Clay bar as much as possible. Then you can use a product such as Scratch X to polish it out as much as possible.
If it is really spray paint, you can use a harsher chemical on a cloth to wipe off such as acetone.

Re: Someone spray painted my Prelude
I got most of it off, some over spray on the front bumper but not noticeable, Glad I didn't have to use anything harsh, Goo Gone did pretty good. I'm gonna have to leave it in the street again tonight. If it happens again it must be someone I know.

Hi AudioFunk,
Glad to hear your damage was minor and you were able to fix it. Although it's still INFURIATING.
Did you report it, to the cops I mean?
Don't know where you live, but where I live the police track patterns of crimes such as yours. (Vandalism, car break-ins, etc.).
They use that data to schedule their cruising routes and officer assignments. They are most frustrated when things happen and are not reported, because they want to catch trends and catch the bad guys as much as we want them to. When there are five instances of vandalism on a street or neighborhood, but only one or two get reported, they can't be as effective as they want to be. Of course, maybe the cops aren't like that where you are.
Even if it's "just kids", they need to learn a lesson about consequences of their actions.
If you think it would do any good, depending on where you live, of course, consider taking the time to report it. Even if you've repaired the damage, you could show them your pics.
Here in my town, we had a graffiti trend a few years ago. The mayor and cops got serious and they eventually busted a guy or a group of guys (I can't remember). Found a garage full of empty paint spray cans. It was just one guy or group doing a LOT of damage, over time, all over town. I don't know what happened to the perp(s), but since then, almost no graffiti around here. (Sometimes, things work as they should!)
