Sequential shifter in Prelude 4G - pics & video
As I promised, here are some pics of my seq shifter...
some info: The shifter is pure mechanical matter but for synchro gearboxes its better to have power assistance. It was originally developed (by my companion and me) for porsche 911 (GT3 996) and I modified it also for prelude (and other cars like Lancer etc.)
The shifting is in sequence R-0-1-2-3-4-5. To shift up you must push back, for shift down must pull forward. I can also shift neutral between each gear but theese are not indicated on display (on display stands - (minus))
Since I still have synchro gearbox, I use power assistance with electromagnet controlled by programmable ecu (on these pictures is nonprogrammable ecu (black box)). Now I can change the force, the time and the slope of power for each gear and rpm range.
Still must use clutch pedal (because of synchro gearbox). If I had DOG KIT - non synchro gearbox, than there would be instead of electromagnet switch and instead ecu SHIFT-CUT. Than it would be possible to shift W/O clutch, but this is a car for daily driving so im not going to do that (maybe later )
Uf, I think thats all, If you would like to know anything else, just ask
So, do you like it?

its from one test drive of my friend (so Im not a driver in this vid) and he was trying it for the first time, although he is a very good crx driver (he won several uphill trophies in Czech rep.) you can see that he is not used to it and sometimes the movements are not sure...

and Im sorry for my english , its not my native language...
Lets go for the pics
in car
without tunnel
the shifter, electromagnet and non programmable ecu
and program for programmable ecu

Re: Sequential shifter in Prelude 4G (PreludeZ)
Wow . . .
that is beautiful
If only every person/company put in so much thought and attention to detail when designing aftermarket parts . . .

That is some cool stuff. I'd have to use it to know how cool, but that is some nice work. Def not something your average tuner can put together.

Re: (jd3jdm)
One of the most usefull mods ive seen on this forum. VERY nice job! Its similiar to the Stillway shifter I have for my FC. Its not sequential, but it "locks out" all the gears except the one you need. You can lock it or drive it like a normal shifter.

so essentially, this shifter locks the gear selections except for the next gear you want, in either a straight line up or down.?
Could you explain the electro magnet assist, i am little foggy on that aspect
