Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't a theft report REQUIRE proof of ownership before you can make a claim. Since the engine SN is NOT tied to the VIN there is no way, using DMV records, to prove that an engine was really stolen. Posting an engine SN is about as irrelevant as posting the security code for a stock head unit...it's only useful to the person who physically has the hardware.

I'm doing another chart. For anyone who owns a non-USDM engine or transmission, please send me your block stamp and serial number OR transmission code and serial number.
Also, for anyone with a JDM engine, please include VC color, and year stamp.
For those of you who are unjustifiably paranoid, the information will not leave my mailbox.
Basically, you'd be able to get the two serial numbers and look it up in my chart to determine exactly where your swap came from. It will include all markets, all 4G and 5G Prelude models, several Accord models, etc.

So I've completed as much as I can without help (from my own giant list of reference data). Currently sitting at 2 different models, 10 different model years, 10 different domestic markets, over 50 different block stamps, over 100 different chassis codes, over 150 different transmissions, over 300 different trim levels, and over 700 lines long.

I also found some numbers on the head and block. Behind the exhaust manifold on right side of the block (inside an oval stamp) it says No. 3 96. Then on the right side of the head it says P13 HF-1.
I found some other identifying marks on the head. On the head, right inline with the 2nd manifold pipe, there are two round stamps about the size of a nickle. The one on the left (first one) Has the following letters around the outside edge; H, I, J, K, L, A, B, C, D, F, F. There is an arrow in the middle of the circle pointing up toward the letter "A" and the bottom of the arrow is inline with the letter H. The 2nd Round stamp (on the right) has the following numbers around the outside edge; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. There is a number 9 & 6 in the middle of the circle with and arrow between them. The arrow is pointing toward the number 8 and the bottow of the arrow is inline with the number 2.
I also discovered that the distributor coil on the engine I have is internal (inside the distributor) and the one in the Helms manual for a 1995 prelude that I have been trying to use has an external coil (outside the distributor). and of course i am having trouble with the distributor and dont know what year to give the auto parts store.
I also realized that I forgot to tell you that the valve cover is not only black but, it has a chrome strip about 2-3 inches wide going down the length of it that is a cover for the spark plugs.

How do I gain access to your chart to determine the origin of my motor. I have already made more than 5 post and exceeded the 15 day trial period. I have posted all of the identifying markings on the motor.

Hey Kronn, my engine serial number is 1280239. I have a 2000 Honda Civic EM1 with a JDM H22A swap. I believe from my research including on this thread, that I have an engine from a 1997 or 1998 Honda Prelude SiR S Spec. To confirm this my transmission is M2Z4 LSD. I do have some questions though... I have seen that your head has a P13 HF-2 stamp the same as mine in your SH. I have tried to do extensive research on this, and on to other posts on other sites, two owners of an SiR S Specs Prelude's also have this stamp on their head. It is dated 98 and the reason that I am wondering is because I recently checked my ECU, and it is an OBD1 early generation Prelude p13??? My intake is also stamped P13 HF5 so I'm wondering if this is the correct intake for my engine as well. Any help that you can assist me with would be greatly appreciated because you seem very knowledgeable in this area and I appreciate all the research you have done and look forward to hearing back from you.
