Run mid 13s with no turbo,SuperCharger,NOZ
FusioNiTy's way to run mid 13s with ease :
In order for your car to run mid 13s with no Turbo,SC,NAWWZ your car has to be VTEC. Heres a way to do it without spending alot of money..
heres the basics
1. Short Ram Intake
2. aftermarket header
3. downpipe(strightpipe) to a uni muffler
4. Power Pullys
you should be running really low mid 14s if your a good driver
(((((((Weight Reductions))))))))
Removing weight on your Prelude car is a great way to dramatically increase your performance. With every bit of weight removed your car will have a better horsepower/weight ratio and will not only accelerate faster but also corner and handle better while getting better gas mileage!
1. Passenger Seat (37lbs) - Removing the passenger seat is a very easy and effective way to give your Prelude a small boost in power. The nice thing is that the seat is only held in place by 4 bolts.
2. Rear Seat (29lbs) - The rear seat is a little more complicated to remove than the passenger seat. When removing just remember where everything goes and it should be easy to put back in place whenever needed.
3. Rear Seat Cushion (10lbs) - The rear cushion should be removed at the same time as the rear seat.
4. Floor Mats/Front and Rear (6lbs) - This has to be the easiest weight reductions available for any vehicle!
5. Tire Floor Cover (3lbs) - The tire floor cover is right underneath the rear hatch carpeting.
6. Spare Tire and Jack (32lbs) - Another easily removable item on most vehicles.
7. Air Conditioning (40lbs) - Removing the air conditioning will net you a reduction of about 40lbs. Be sure to remove everything from the engine as well as behind the dash. Should be completed by the experienced only.
8. Front Hood (50lbs) - Replacing the Front Hood with a lightweight fiberglass or carbon fiber hood is a great way to remove some weight around the front end of the car. Total weight reduction will be close to 50lbs or greater depending on the aftermarket hood you choose.. If you dont intend on replacing the entire front hood you could also remove the sound dampener on the inside of the hood. This should help in cooling your engine a little as well.
9. Stock Wheels - Most stock vehicle wheels are much heavier than thier aftermarket counterparts. If you want to really increase your acceleration they we recommend switching to lightweight performance wheels.
10. Front Drivers Seat - The front drivers seats can be replaced by lightweight aftermarket alternatives. Some vehicles, especially those with power seats will experience a dramatic decrease in weight.
you just lost 305 lbs!! adding 17 HP! you will get 0 to 60 times alot faster tho good for the drags and highway racing
More Weight Reduction !!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you want to beat F-bodys
Some of the things listed here can also be removed or replaced with lighter alternatives than stock.
Stock Flywheel - Can be replaced with lightweight aluminum flywheels or machined down in excess of just 13lbs.
Stock Steering Wheel - Can be replaced with lighter performance steering wheel with no airbag.
Passenger Airbag Removal - Can save some extra weight as well. (Not recommended for normal driving)
Interior Panels - Both the drivers side and passenger side front door panels as well as the rear panels can be removed to save in excess of over 40lbs on most cars.
Stock Speakers - With a normal weight of over 2 pounds a piece these can also be easily removed. Vehicles with power antenna's can also decrease weight by removing this heavy item.
Rear Hatch Cover - This can simply be removed whenever needed.
Wiper Motors - Although they are generally needed under almost all driving conditions they CAN be removed if need be although we do not personally recommend it.
Carpet - Removing the carpet as well as the carpet lining underneath will reduce the cars overall weight by close to 40lbs. Removing excess wiring and bolts and brackets will also net you a reduction of close to 10lbs.
Car Frame - Removing the car frame will get you really fast.... but will die in a car crash! I dont recommend doing that... only if its a drag car (thinking about this myself)
i'v done almost half of what I said in Weight Reductions and I sometimes beat Trams AMs
this is only possiable in the Honda Prelude 2.2 DOHC VTEC

You got an 96 which mean its an obdII computer and it's not very responsive to aftermaket part. If you have taken out the cat, wouldn't that put your computer in a limp mode?

Re: (Jonesy69)
, Can someone explain to me how a universal "MUFFLER" really helps that much.
Dammit i knew i shouldn't of bought a turbo. Look at all the money i wasted All i had to do was buy a 4th gen vtec and ride around with no a/c, ps, speakers, carpet, dash, doors, hood, fenders, trunk, sunroof, and have only a milk karten as a seat, then buy one of those lil cholo lowrider steering wheels and i's be in mid 13

**** man, i bet if you took off the doors and cut the roof off, and got rid of all the glass you could run 12s easy
i would prefer to run 12s with PS, AC, full interior and everything, but that's just me
