I did my front calipers/pads, went to do back, and one bolt on the caliper is stripped (and no, I didn't do it lol, this is the first time since I've owned the car, that I have attempted to service the calipers.) Any thoughts on getting the bolt off? Its the top bolt. The area is sort of cramped. I tried to get my sawzall in there to cut the head off, but its too tight. I figure a disk grinder would work fine, but am looking for the safest plausible solution.

I have searched, but perhaps am not hitting the search quary right on the head.

is it the caliper bolt, or the caliper bracket bolt thats stripped. if its the caliper bolt itself, then you can try first removing the entire caliper and bracket assemlby from the car, then attack that bolt. you can accompllish this by unbolting the bracket from the knuckle.

its one of two bolts that hold the two sections of the caliper together. I believe they are referred to as the caliper mounting bolts. They are if I remember correctly 13 mm or so

I wonder if I should just take a disk grinder/file , and flatten the rounded parts untill its 1 mm size less of a bolt, and than use the respective socket?

is the bolt stripped or is the headed rounded off? if the head is rounded off go to sears and spend 10bux on a "bolt out" kit. it grabs rounded off heads . works wonders

Yes, my bad. I should have specified. The head is stripped or rounded off as you put it. Not the threads. Sorry for bad use of the word stripped. I'll give that tool a try.

Oh, I will need a replacement bolt. Would Honda Stealership be the only choice?
