Default OBD2 -> OBD1 harness

I'm kinda curious.

Are the plugs on an OBD2+ say GSR ECU the same as those of an OBD2+ Prelude ecu? (can I use an OBD2.2 -OBD1 harness from a GSR on a P13 in my 5g prelude?)

Which version of OBD does the 5th Gen have, OBD2 or OBD2.2 ?

Thanks

Only the 96-98 Integra OBD2->OBD1 harness will work. They are the same as the 97+ Prelude. But then Integra harnesses changed after 98.

There is no such thing as "OBD2.2" It's either OBD1 or OBD2. Those are the only 2 diagnostic specs mandated by the federal government to date.

I thought there was an obd2.5? or is that just sort of a slang term for the newer diagnostic systems?

100% pure BS. The EPA has regulations that mandate the impementation and governing of only 2 automotive on board diagnostic specs to date. They are OBD1 and OBD2. I think that you may be confused because the Integra ECU design changed in 1999+. But all 1996+ ECUs are simply OBD2 compliant. There is no more advanced OBD spec than 2... yet.

http://hondata.com/adapters.html

then why does every one sell two different types of OBD2 adapters?

The hondata site even gives pictures of them being different. from 97 to 98

Because the board design and plug type of B series ECUs is different between 96-98 and 99+. It was probably done as a cost-cutting move to make the ECUs cheaper to produce. But they both have exactly the same functionality. The newer ECU design adds no new monitoring or functionality to the engine control however.

oh.. ok.. this whole thread kinda went OT then..

the original question was about the plugs being the same..

I know that there is no other type of OBD... the a and b are just different adapter plugs..
