Default loofa sponge?

i just got a greddy catch can and i heard since they arent baffled to open it up and run a loofa sponge in it or a piece of steel wool? if so do i just pop off the top and put either of them in there?
i was thinking about running one of them strait to my pvc and the other, i want to drill a hole and add a fitting on my valve cover to vent it. any suggestions??

thanks

you dont think it'll disenigrate over time? i think the scrubbers for pots and pans will be a lil bit better (how it will hold up) b/c i think they both will do the job ok

If im not mistaken those little Loofa sponge things are plastic right? I would be willing to bet that it would melt immediatly once the exhaust had time to heat up. I mean think about it, when your car has been running for a bit and you touch that exhaust pipe even your skin will fry. That little sponge will shrink up to nothing but a puddle of burning plastic in your exhaust giving you a bad smell and maybe even some smoke
