Icon2 Integrated Control Unit (ICU) 92

I'm trying to troubleshoot my ICU since my lights on reminder chime and INT wiper setting stopped working. So far I've replaced the ICU and the wiper combo switch to rule those out and it's still not working.

I then went through the service manual input test procedures and everything tested fine. Fuses are good, ground is good, battery voltage when headlights are on, battery voltage when IGN on, door switch is seeing ground when door is open (flipped the door switch back and forth and saw the signal open), jumped the chime at the ICU connector and was able to get it to sound.

I'm stumped

Any ideas or suggestions?

I have no idea or suggestions. I am only commenting on this because I am in the same situation.

I'm going through the service manual trying to trace all the signals to the ICU but for some reason they leave some of the connections out (I can't tell which pin is responsible for powering the IC chip in the ICU). I'm trying to get the lights on beeper to work by itself which, I think, is located in the ICU itself. The external chime I believe is for the seat belt reminder. If anyone can confirm this.

As long as I've had the car (10 years) I can't ever recall the seat belt reminder working, but the lights on reminder and int wiper worked up until a few weeks ago.

Sounds like we are in very similar situations. I have had my car for 13 years. I remember everything working at one time. A few years back I noticed my intermittent wipers did not work, then I started noticing other things. Dome lights, door ajar, head lights on, parking lights (they are the most recent).

I replaced the ICU with a used one that an individual said worked. I have no reasons to doubt him, especially since you have also replaced it and are still having issues.

I am running a new ECU, JDM side maker lights, JDM 1 piece headlight, and fog lights. Thats about all the electrical stuff I have done to the car.

I got 3 small kids, work and grad school, so my time to trouble shoot and really dive into a project is very limited. If I get time (and I may just make time, I am tired of having a dead battery at lunch time because I left the lights on) and figure something out, I will let you know as well.

Wow, that does sound pretty similar, except my parking lights and door ajar light both work. Since I read your post I've noticed that my dome light doesn't work either. I thought it was the bulb so I just bought a new bulb tonight to replace it and it still doesn't work.

Also, In my cigarette lighter I have a usb charger with a blue led light that is constantly on and now that doesn't work either, however, the cigarette ring light and the ashtray light both work .. My guess is the same thing could be happening to yours?

Ok guys, I went out today after work to take a quick look after printing out the schematics and seems I overlooked a fuse under the hood which turned out to be bad. It was the No. 46 fuse (15A) that was blown. Replaced it and everything was working again, woo hoo!!

Going back to the input test that I did, I didn't do the test for the entry light timer system because I wasn't testing for that and that was the only test that required to probe that wire (B5 on the ICU pinout)

Looking at all the schematics from the dome light, cigarette lighter and ICU, they all run from the WHT/BLU wire which is connected to fuse 46.

So it seems the power to the whole ICU is coming from that wire and if that goes out everything from the ICU won't work: INT wiper, lights on chime, entry light timer (ignition key light) and seat belt reminder, although, my seat belt reminder still isn't working which I'm in no hurry to fix, haha

So if your fuse 46 is good I would look at that WHT/BLU wire first to make sure there isn't an open or short.

Hope this helps y'all

Holy Sh*t Batman!
Fuse blown, replaced it, majority of items fixed (I have not tested out the intermittent wipers).

Drbenne, what is your paypal address? Ill send you enough for a beer or stiff drink.

I have a freaking dome light now, and I will not come out to my car at lunch time only to find a dead battery. Happy freaking day to me now. Thanks Drbenne!

No problem man, don't worry about it. Just glad you got it working. Did you check to see if your other symptoms were fixed?
