Default I can push the brake pedal to the floor??

I have seen some streaks of what I believe to be brake fluid on my rims after driving sometime. I looked around the master cylinder to check for leaks and it did not seem like it was leaking.

If I sit in the car I can push the pedal real hard and it will slowly go down really far. I think its because of the calipers leaking.

Anyone have any ideas? I don't think its the master cylinder cause its not leaking.

It doesn't stop to bad. But when coming to a stop if I press hard into the pedal it sinks down and doesnt grab much harder. Its almost scary but rarely to bad.

ONE BIG THING I FORGOT TO MENTION IN THE ORIGINAL POST WAS : my fluid reservoir has to be filled up every two days or so depending on how much I drive cause of wherever its leaking from.

The seals in one of your calipers might be bad. Rebuild or get a remanufactured pair.

have a buddy pump the brakes while you take a look at each individual caliper/brake master cylinder. take off the wheels to make it easier. look for leaking brake fluid. once you have found the culprit, replace it then bleed the system.

its always good to replace things in pairs. so if its a caliper, replace the opposite side as well (unless they are relatively new).

It could be the two copper washers that go on either side of the brake line on each caliper. This would also let air into the system, making your pedal mushy.

its most likely the calipers if you're seeing fluid.
one of the front hoses failed on me too last year. so check that out. the rubber can get all dry rotted after 10-15 years.

yeah the entire brake system is 14 years old I guess except for the master cylinder. I am sure its about time for a rebuild loL!

if u dont find a fluid leak anywhere near the calipers then u may have a bad seal int he brake booster and the vacuum hooked to the booster is pulling the fluid into the engine and its just burning it
