the only engines that will go in your car are the stock one, or an H-series. there currently are no swap kits available for any engine except the H-series.
sean, aka 1funryd should be chiming in here anytime now, he does the h-swap kits.

My first car was a 1989 Honda Accord which was similar to the Preludes, I always imagined how fun it would be like with a B16 vtec.

I currently have 10 buy ins, but the group on pp.com is waiting for at least 15 buyers to try and reduce the costs.

In order for the K swap to happen, it will need to have a fabricated rear subframe that is made out of round tube. Sounds easy?? Let me explain further, this new rear subframe needs to house the front steering rack. Plus its is unclear if it will allow to keep the factory 4WS system. Which is one of the most defining options on any 3rd gen, for handling.
It will also need to have the lower control arm mounting points stay in the OEM location or else you run the risk of ruining front alignment.
As it stands with the H swap, the lower control arm mounting points are very close, just like the K20 swap in a 92-95 civic from which I have studied up close.
The rough estimate to produce just the rear subframe was in the area of $1700, and the mounts would still be a high priced item due to uniqueness and man hours into getting that motor and tranny to sit right.
This does not include the modifying of the hood which would ruin the sleek look of a 3rd gen Prelude. It has the lowest hoodline in the history of Honda, to give it its "Engineless design look".
Thats why the stock B20/21 motors and tranny's were cast at an 18 degree angle from the factory to allow the motor and tranny to sit properly in such low hood space.

holy ****! why are the third gens jsut so difficult to deal with!!
man, thats more work than the OMG WTF BBQ sauce H2B rwd turbo lude had required.
Too bad really, as a k in the third gen would be amazing!

LoL!!!! Its all because of that special engine bay design bro....LoL!!!
Trust me, why do you think its been hard to get things going for this chassis, once someone realizes how much custom work needs to be done, then just throw in the towel and move on to a civic/integra or 4th and 5th gen Lude.
I have made the H/F swaps easier and well documented, so that is all done.
Now I am working on the B series swap into the 3rd gen lude, so we shall see what happens with that.
But the K20 swap is still only a pipe dream.

sean, for future reference I'd love to see a shallow oil pan and dry sump design for the swaps. I'd probably never do a swap as I like my b20/b21 challenges, but I'm sure it'd be a hit for the low hanging swap engines.
