not that this thread needs any more posts, but just for giggles, the 97-98 a4's are 9.5:1 comp and 99+ is 10:1.

this addresses an earlier post about 195hp vs 200hp. it is not an issue of auto/man or anything else. 97-98 are rated at 195bhp and 99+ are rated 200hp regardless of model and trim.

and i'm surprised no one has brought up the pressed vs floating pin yet...

H22a~pros
Higher comp.
bigger injectors(310cc)
closed deck

Cons
Older
Closed deck
Automatic JDM ludes came with smaller cams making 195hp

h22a4 pros
open deck
newer
200hp rated

cons
smaller injectors 290cc
weak blocks
crank bends

h22a are great
h22a1 are ok
h22a4 are good....for so long

when my h22a was stock, i never lost to a any other usdm h22. recently after the chip, i raced a modded 2000 lude and i Killed it!! h22a's are really good but h22's in general are good!!

^It would almost be a waste of time, the engines are slightly different but hardly.

I will be doing aftermarket parts as well only jdm but i want to use the h22a pistons to gain the compression without sleaving the block im sure there are several other pistons thst would serve this purpose but im trying to stay honda as much as i can thanks for the tip.

Well then get the pistons from the red top H22a, they are 11:1, as well as the camshafts from this motor. Go to hmotorsonline.com they have great prices on these parts brand new in the box. I thought you meant the ones from the black top H22a which are 10.6:1. As for the intake manifold go to roskoracing.com to get the H22a Euro R manifold machined to fit your engine.

umm, the autos cam with different cams?
I know many people think that autos had different cams, acuras, civics, so many rumors.
every time i go and look up part numbers... autos and manuals are the same part number... I have not check part numbers in this case, but would like to know, can anyone verify that claim?

Needs modification, roskoracing.com, you'll get one from there pre-machined to fit. The cam thing is probably just a bunch of internet rumors and should just be ignored.

1) Don't bump old threads.

2) Look at the block stamp on the front left of the engine block, below the distributor. If it says "H22A" then it is a JDM motor. If it says "H22A2", or "H22A4", or basically anything other than just "H22A", it's not JDM. Google is your pal.

Well in theory, nobody ever wins then if ya can't bump old posts.

If ya search, and have a questions but don't find the answer, everyone says search.

If ya search and bump an old thread, people say what.. make a new thread. Where people will tell u to search.

I got no problem with bumping old stuff. If it's relevant. It keeps info in one place.
