Ok so i was driving and my car lost Vtec and just puttered out and died. wouldnt start again. it would crank but not turn over. Looked into it some more and found that i have no spark and no fuel. I replaced the dizzy,main relay, fuses are all good,tried 2 other p13 ecu's. Still the same thing. Where do i go from here?! could the fuel pump cause the car to not have spark? I really need some help with this. Hoping someone has a clue as to what would cause this?
Dizzy and Main Relay were purchased brand new. Everything has power going to it. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated.

im just throwing that out there. i dont have a lot of knowledge with these preludes yet. i only had mine for a couple months and have not had too many problems yet

but the only thing that comes to mind when thinking about that would be ignition switch or main relay

compression? do you have an alarm with fuel/ignition kill?

take your valve cover out see if you pop your timing belt.

My son is having the same issues with his 91 prelude si 2.1. Changed belts, alternator, plugs, wires - now they think it is the crankshaft pulley. Anyone know where to get a used or new one that won't cost $180+? Not having the best of luck finding one that won't break the bank. H22aAllDay - hope this isn't your problem. Good luck!

your coil have you checked it and did you pull your main fuel line off of the fuel rail driverside and see if your not getting any fuel

how do you know you do not have spark/fuel? what did you test?

I would check the spark plug wires (hold near ground see if spark jumps) for spark there. If no spark there check coil.

for fuel like sabin said pull that return line off and see if you have fuel when you turn the key to on position.

ok so i jumped the fuel pump and power wires from the main relay and the pump works.

Wow, I just had this problem. Exact same, so here's what you check before you buy anything and waste money like I did.. take out your back seat to get to the fuel pump. Turn the key to on, and listen to the fuel pump to see if its flowing or pumping. If you cannot hear anything then its your fuel pump. Also check the fuel filter under the engine bay, should have the same sound. Check spark plug wires to see if its getting spark, check spark plug, timing belt,get your coil checked out at the store, and make sure your spark plug wires are in order also. If its not starting yet, take out your fuel filter and pour it out. Turn the key to on and off a few times until you hear it flowing again in the fuel filter. It might take a while, but when you do hear it, start your car and it should start. Then you celebrate buy jumping around if you need any pictures on where anything is at, ill be happy to provide it for you.

this is not true about the fuel just because you dont hear it doesnt mean the pump is bad the main relay which also is your fuel pump relay could be bad and its cheaper then the fuel pump

I do not think it would be the Ign. Switch, that would not of made the call stall out. It would prevent it from starting, Yes, but something made it stall out and prevent it from starting again.
When you jumped the pump, did you by-pass the relay? That relay could of blown, like others stated.

I would also check your coil, that could cause those problems.

Like stated above, I would check compression, you may have blown a head gasket, check your dipstick for a milky flim, or pull your valve cover and see if there is a milky flim under there.

first off sorry to hear about your troubles sir. hope you guys don't mind me getting in on this. I'm a new member otherwise I would have created my own thread. I have a 2000 honda prelude jdm h22a swap I just bought a few days ago and I am also having a similar problem. I drove the car 2 hours home let it rest for about an hour then drove my friend h ome who drove my car after purchase. the car was having a hard time trying to start we would have to pump it to get a little gas before it would I actually start. on my drive home after dropping off my friend the problems seem to stop but then when I pulled into my driveway it just died and hasn't started again. the rotor cap spark plugs and wires what brand new,and when I turn the key I can hear the fuel pump start. over the last few days we have been looking at it and we change the coil but the car still won't start any ideas?

well went down and got a I c m put that in and it still didn't start however we try to jump start it and it turned on. still having the idle control problems were wondering if maybe that intake.???

okay so pop start the car and I'm glad to say that I'm able to drive it around ,but at startup it still having a idle control problem. should I adjust idle higher?

I replaced my intake manifold and throttle body with skunk2 and now my car wont start unless I push it and it sounds likes it's choking... any advice on what it could be?

See if you swapped the MAP and TPS connectors.

i have that problem just not so along changed fuel pump and filter also changed spark plugs wires and ignition coil worked fine for about two weeks then last week wouldnt turn on all started with this winter and rainin season

Having exact same problem, 97 honda prelude 2.0, would struggle to start when cold, but would run fine after heating. could hear a misfire from inside distrubutor, so changed cap, leads, plugs, battery. ran okay for a couple of days, now wont start. car is turning but as soon as it kicks in it cuts out again. should i change full distributor unit?
was also having trouble with hunting at the same time.

And you have a 2.2ltr not a 2.0.

this same thing happened to me on the freeway. Had to tow the car home. Let the car sit for a while cause i had an extra and no spare time to fix it. Batt. drained and starter solenoid got stuck. Swapped starter but can get anything to start.
I turn the key and i can hear the relays clicking.
When my car died out on the freeway I immediately thought it was my Fuel Pump because I would get cranks until my battery died. While being pulled (towed), i tried to pop it in gear and let it start but throttle was killing it. Today, I unplugged the hose that runs from the fuel filter to the fuel rail. Turned the key and fuel is running through. Im wondering if maybe there isnt enough pressure being pushed by the pump??

Going to clean out the signal wire that plugs to the starter and hope i can get a cranking going since i've cleaned my battery terminals.

Ill be updating everything i've been doing to this car in hopes that someone knows what to do :s

I have the same thing going on, just after the rain it was fine but now its cold and doesn't start.
