the oil pan bolts get torqued to 108 ft lbs and yes it is very important that you use the correct torque specs.
when you tighten the bolts you must do so in this sequence. the block of numbers below represent the bolt pattern of the oil pan. basically you start in the center and tighten in a criss cross type pattern.
15, 13, 7, 5---------------- 1, 3, 9, 11, 17
18, 12, 10, 4----------------2, 6, 8, 14, 16
