h22 alternator not charging battery
Ok car died on me going home other night first thought was alternator had it checked at advance turn out good so I had battery charged and put alternator back on car did same dam thing again. So I was looking at the wires on the plug that goes in alternator and the red and white wire was loose so I reconnected it still not charging then I replaced alternator and battery still not charging I used multimeter to test battery and to see if alternator was charging with lights and radio on and it was reading 11.95 and if it was charging it should be around 13.5 14v so then I take a test light to the alternator plug and the only wire without power was the red and white I also used test light to touch screw on alternator and it has power also all fuses are good even did ohm test to make sure and I got a reading of .04 so now im trying to figure out wtf is up with my h22 been driving car for over a year with no electrical issues and now I can't even drive because eventually it will die running on just the battery and yes I checked that also before I start car it is 12.6 once car is running it drops to 11.9 loaded so obviously something ain't right anybody ever had this problem?

Re: h22 alternator not charging battery
First check that the 90a fuse in the engine bay fuse box is not blown. If it's not blown start the car up on a cold start so the car is idling around 1500 rpms or so. Check for voltage at the battery posts. It should be atleast 14v. If not, the alternator is bad. All parts store alternators are junk. You need a Denso alternator, you can normally get them at rockauto. If somehow they don't have a Denso alternator then get a name brand alternator.
