getting the shakes
my front end is shaking all sorts of bad now after a front caliper job.
about a few weeks ago i realized that both of my front calipers had frozen up on me. One after the other. So i replaced them, the left side 1 week and the right the next. Keeping the same pads as they were still good. Now a week later I am getting the shakes real bad through the steering wheel at speeds greater than 40 mph or so, mostly on the highway. Before I go tearing everything off, and running back to the parts store to replace the new calipers with newer ones, what else could be giving me the shakes?
rotors?
calipers?
something else?
I just had all the tires balanced as i thought it was the issue, turns out the tires were out of balance a little, but having them balanced only made the shakes worse. All tie rods in the front have been replaced as well about 6 months ago during a power steering rack replacement.
Mind you it only shakes when accelerating/coasting in neutral. this is not an effect of braking.
thanks in advance.

unless you lost a wheel weight, rotors rotors rotors dude, mine are so [freak]ign bad you dont even know After i hit 100 they get so hot just from being warped and hitting, holy **** haha, just get new rotors and youll be good, they prolly just got warped from being hung up and getting hot, advance auto parts has drilled and slotted cheap and standard rotrs for even cheaper and they are all good stuff, goodluck

i forgot to mention, after I changed out the first caliper and then the second caliper the car drove like a dream. this shaking just seemed to randomly happen about a week or so after the repair through till now.
if the rotors were warped, wouldn't the shaking be exaggerated/prominent when i step on the brakes?

If the rotors were warped, they would cause a wobble/throbbing in the brake pedal.
Shaking above certain speeds can either be tire issues, or or camber/alignment issues. Pull your front wheels, and inspect the rubber. If that's all good...go get your alignment done and camber checked.
My 91' Integra 4door shakes horribly after 50mph...nasty alignment and horrible camber due to a 3" drop, need to get those problems addressed so I can stop eating through tires so quickly.

when the calipers had frozen they would cause violent steering wheel/front end shake on the highway. the wheels would be almost red hot and smoke would be coming from the pads. once the calipers were replace that went away. im still leaning towards bad calipers.
i had an alignment done no more than 4 months ago, and i haven't hit any major pot holes since then.
i ment to check to see if the wheels got hot today, but i forgot as I was late for work. i check when i get home.

Re: (busyychild)
Well I have done a complete brake job now on the front and rear. Calipers, rotors and pads. I still have the problem. Im thinking that it could be a control arm/ball joint or wheel bearing.
The shaking is random though. One minute I am driving on the highway and it drives fine, and the next it will be shaking all over the place. Ugh

have check to see if your calipers are working correctly. push the piston in and make sure it goes in straight, then pump the brakes and see if they come out straight. this happen to me with new caliper (rebulits) one time. when you push the piston in, it should be consistent pressure all the way.
