falken azenis?? good?
how are thses tires for rain or shine perfromance? i can get 205 50 r15's for $85 a piece.....is that a good price? just getting a pair for the front since my current tires are completely blad.

yeah, theyre nice around town and auto-x kind of driving. But take them out on the interstate, cruise for a bit at about 85mph and get them nice and hot then try to do some cornering.......They suck when theyre hot, sidewalls turn into goo......
and a wet road will make the car feel like its ice skating.....

Hmm i just put some on my stock 15s. I might be comparing them to my old stock tires, but in the rain they got way better traction. I can corner way better in dry or rain. I used to break loose in 2nd in the rain now i dont. So dont think they are totally useless in the rain.

azenis are the best, absolute best, bar none, dry traction street tire on the face of the earth.
Wet traction gets a little hairy when the tread wears down, but it's not as bad as everyone says. try not to plow through standing water at 70 mph and you'll be ok.
sidewall stiffness is near unparalleled, treadwear sucks. but if performance is your aim, there's really nowhere else to look.
$85 installed is an ok price, it could be a little cheaper.

I agree with the Bad-Monkey! Although, I have not had unreasonable tread wear issues with these tries. I use them for AutoX and daily drivers (summer only)

I run the azenis sport on my CL full time.
They are set to come out with new sport model in jan that is supposed to be better in wet weather.
If you are looking for something for street use only, Id look at the bridgestone potenza RE750. They have great sidewalling too, long tread life, wonderful performance for day to day driving.
If i hadnt bought my azenis and started autoXing, then i would be running on 750s right now.

For all out drag racing i wouldnt recommend them, a guy i know with a 90 model hatch with a K series swap spins just about to the eight mile with those tires

I wouldn't recommend ANY street tire for all-out drag racing.

purely for daily driving, the st115's are prob quieter, and definitely cheaper. i don't know how long they last, and the grip is meh, but between the two get the ones that are cheaper.

They are THEE best tire available for the PRICE. Sure there are better tires on the market but the cost twice as much. There is no other tire in it's price range that performs as well as it does. I auto x and Canyon run and they have never let me down. treadware is short especially if you drive a lot. Mines are a permanant part of my car so I use them for my daily commute and all. To date I've had them for 9 months and it is now time for some new ones.

Personally, I am not all that pleased with the wet traction of the Azenis ... I currently have 15" Azenis on my autocross rims and run the Potenza RE750s on the stock 16s (for daily driving). My vote would be for the Pontenza's for daily driving purposes.
I do not think that you can get the RE730s anymore. I had those on my previous daily driver (still have a set on my toy car) and was told that the RE750 was the replacement for that tire.

If the TireRack is still doing their special on the Pirelli PZero System Asimmetricos in 205/50/16, I would get those. $92 a tire, and they are awesome in the wet! I have autoXed on them a few times this season, and I am impressed with their dry grip...but not near as impressed as I am with their wet. I wouldn't reccomend them at all. Potenza RE750s are nice, but teh pricetag on them can be kind of steep. If you are on a Z-rated tire, consider yourself lucky if you get more than 10,000 miles out of them.
I've been trhough a lot of tires, and my vote still stays with Sumitumo HTR+ and Srixon. I have had excellent results with them compared to other tires I've owned (Prada's, Ecstas, amd Azenis). Ectas and Azenis are not that great for cornering (Ectas are loud as all let out), and the yokohamas turned to slicks at about 7,000 miles.

If I remember correctly, I think in the Integra R forum, there was a post about a new series of Falken Azenis coming out soon. You may want to check them out. It's a new tread design and supposedly they will have better traction in wet conditions.

i like my azenis and they're not that bad in the rain actually, turning is quite nice but any time you're in the rain, it's more slippery.

Same thoughts. On my car i feel i have good traction in the rain. I also have lsd so that might be why. Only time they are bad is when its down pouring they arnt good in puddles.
