Default Could a bad PCV valve cause you to fail an emissions test?

My car failed the emissions test and I noticed my PCV valve wasn't working so I replaced it and now it works. Would this have any effect on passing the test?

my pcv was bad and i didn't notice any bogging issues, seemed to run the same with and without it, i guess for $3 and 30 seconds you can't go wrong replacing it Click the image to open in full size.

Yes, it can. If your running your car cap the vacum pull the valve and put a breather in. It will remove all those less explosive oil fumes from your intake. Every little bit helps when your trying squish your friends WRX.
