the clutch clicking... idle dropping... solutions?
I know many of you have heard of have experienced the clutch clicking noise at one point in your ownership of a honda. my clutch starts to click immediately after putting slight pressure to the pedal. i can feel it in my foot as well. i searched online and came to the conclusion it was the throwout bearing. i replaced it with an OEM one.
After replacing it, the sound was less audable but still noticeable. today, my clutch sank to the floor with about 1 inch of play. my car died out then also. i couldn't start my car again because the clutch disengage i guess.
i've also noticed that everytime i stepped on the clutch, my idle goes down about 500 rpm.
Would anyone happen to know if these 2 problems are related? any solutions to this?
cliffnotes:
i hear and feel clicking when i press of clutch pedal. when i press the clutch, the idle drops. pedal fell to the floor and car died. pedal came up after bringing it up and car started. MADE THE WORST CLICKING i've heard yet. replaced the throwout bearing already.
thanks guys

your clicking sound/feel may be coming from the return spring by the clutch pedal or clutch master cylinder piston rubbing in its bore, or you need to lube the clutch fork(where the slave piston pushes the fork or by the throwout bearing).
as far as your rpm dropping and dies out ...you sound like you have a leak on your hydro clutch system. check for leak by your clutch pedal( bad master) and for leak at the slave cylinder( inside the boot). your loosing pressure in your clutch sys which is like releasing the pedal when your not. hope that helps..
