Default Brake Piston

Im changing my break pads and i get the brake piston to go back in. This is my first time chaning them on this car. Is there some trick of the trade that releases the pressure so the brake piston can go back in. Thanks

Go to an auto parts store and get a caliper loaner tool set. It looks something like this http://www.harborfreight.com/c...40732 It is $35 at autozone or 90 at advanced but you get all your money back when you return it. BTW if you are doing the rears you have to turn the piston slowly while pushing it back in because of ebrake. That is where the set really comes in handy.

and open your brake cap. You could open the bleeder valve too I think, that should drop pressure. Remember at the end that you have to screw the piston into the caliper to get it in as far as its suppose to go to fit your rotors and pads

For the fronts you can just use a large C-clamp and push the pistons back in. For the rears you have to rotate the piston to have it go in. I was able to rotate the pistons back in using a needle nose pliers. I just put the needle nose in the grove and slowly turned.

I bought a caliper spreader for like $5 after using a C clamp for years.
I think it was NAPA......Doing front brakes is a joke now.....
