98 Prelude Headlights
My sons 98 Prelude has headlight problems.
-both lows are dim
-left high barely glows - hi beam indicator inop
I have found two different diagrams. One shows two headlight relays, the other shows only one. I need the correct wiring diagram. Is the wiring for 97 the same?
Thanks - Jim

Re: 98 Prelude Headlights
if they are dim i kinda doubt that it is a relay. not that cant be, but i would be checking all of my grounds. I have never looked at a wiring diagram for the headlamps but i do know that on my 97 there is a ground point on the front dr side inner fender that has several wires running to it. Make sure that it is tight.

Re: 98 Prelude Headlights
According to the wiring diagrams I have found, there are two low beam ground points - one for each headlight - one on the left side under the hood and one on the right. They both could be bad so will check them. but was thinking along the lines of a common cause. Not sure if the vehicle has Day Light Running Lights. The car is in Texas so I am doing this long distance.

Re: 98 Prelude Headlights
The issue is resoloved. I used the wiring diagram for Ludes w/o Daylight Running Lights. Two problems were found:
---the right side low beam bulb was bad
---fuse 51 (left side lights) was blown
With fuse 51 blown and lights on low beam, voltage is applied to the LH low beam bulb through the RH high beam bulb. With the two in series, they burn dim. Once the fuse was replaced, the high beams work fine and it was apparant that the RH low beam bulb was bad.
