Icon6 '93 Prelude with '90 Accord tranny

Hey all, I'm new to this so I need all the help I can get. I recently bought a '93 prelude for $800. The previous owner swapped the original tranny with one from what i assume is a '90 accord since its written in big bold letters on it. The cv axle on the passenger side has broken on him numerous times at the inboard part. I bought it with this problem. Does the tranny from that accord even really interchange with the prelude and if it does, what could be the problem? he didnt have a tranny mount on it, just a long bolt through the tranny and mount. he also lowered it himself 2 inches. I would appreciate any help i could get :D thanks!

90-93 Accords came with F22's which are compatible with the H-series motors. Most stuff H/F are compatible with each other. The problem with the axle is probably the fact he doesn't have a tranny mount on it. Im not 100% sure since i've never really seen the engine bay of a 90-93 accord but im betting that trans mount isn't the same as the Lude's trans mount. So i'd go to a junkyard, or autoparts store and buy the right mount for the lude.

Ok thank a lot! Also, what axle should go in there? When I put in the new prelude axle, it felt loose and I figure it ought to fit snug, I tried the axle for the accord in there and that one seems to fit a bit tighter, but it's too short.

Use a Prelude axle and Prelude mount. I kept breaking passenger axles when my front mount was bad

the accord tranny will work fine in the prelude jus geared alot longer than the h22 and h23s. the tranny mount is different but the prelude tranny bracket will go onto the accord tranny but you have to drill the bolt holes out i think the holes are there just filled in. if they left the accord bracket on it it wont bolt up, maybe thats why they didnt bolt it up or took the mount off the body or whatever. but use to use90-93 accord tranny in prelude u need to put the prelude tranny bracket on the accord tranny by dilling the holes and it fits perfect. then use prelude axles body mount tranny mount. it kept breakin axles becuz the mount isnt bolted up. hope that helps fix it with all the prelude stuff on accord tranny it will work
