Thats a half *** connection with that yellow connector. When I did my 5sp swap I did the same thing because I have a remote start as well. Just make sure to leave it out of gear everytime you're done driving....

I never leave it in gear so that won't be a problem. Been driving in Florida most my life and I've had around 10 five speeds. Florida is very flat!!!!

As for the previous owner who is a real *** hat. I can't believe the crap he has done to this car. I probably shouldn't have bought this car at night time!!! I should have waited TWO days and got a killer deal on a 98 SH but you live and learn....

Yea itll be a good project tho, Im not a big fan of the SH due to that **** they hve stacked behind the engine. I dont even remember what it does I think its a diff or extended housing for the axles but it was a huge pain in the *** when we dropped a tranny for a clutch job.

It's been a fun project getting to know this car but the SH probably didn't have half the problems this one has

Ok I ordered a new thermostat that will be here next Monday. I have been running without a thermostat for a couple days. I noticed that the temp gauge would go high then go back to half then about 20 minutes later it would to the red. I bought a heat laser gun and waited for it to do that again and the the temp was around 179 at the block, 160 at the head and around 217 on the headers. Could that just be a bad temp sensor or do I need to stop driving it until I get the new thermostat?

Also I got an EGR CEL code. Bought some Seafoam and that took away the CEL code. I have noticed a slight sputter/pop when I am down shifting and when I release the gas pedal then give it gas. Sometime when shifting. When I bought it the tank was almost full and the guy said he had just got it running. Could old (regular low octane) gas in the tank cause this? I topped it off with 93 but do not know what he put in. With everything that I had seen so far I would guess he would be to cheap put in 93.

if the thermostat is freely open then it should maintain a constant low temperature and take longer to warm up

Ok now I am wanting to replace the axles but worry about getting the right ones. Do I get regular Prelude H22 axles or Accord?

Thanks

Hey man. Im currently working on a prelude with a h22a4 swap that i traded a 95 s10 xcab for. Mine is running but not driving because i need to replace clutch master and slave. It seems to rev good even tho it has a p14 ecu. Alot of the wires going into the ecu have been cut. I plan on splicing them together and getting a obd1 to obd2 harness and wiring the vtec myself will keep you posted on things i figure out that may help you. Good Luck...

In regards to last post about axles im pretty sure my car has the axles that came in car when it had h23. It is a 5 speed. The half shaft bolted to engine and seems like will do fine....

I know im a few days late on the questions you had but im pretty sure your car should run fine on regular. The only time 93 would benifit would be if your car was boosted or you had built a high compression motor. As far as a stock h series im positive regular would run fine. Iv had civics and integras with b16a,b18c and the jdm motors run a lil higher compression and still ran like hell on 87 I did have a boosted b18c1 that didnt run good on anything but 93 but it was built pushing nearly 390 hp at the wheels
