92 96 Prelude F22B Erratic Idle & Idle Drop FIX Confirmed
Hey Guys,
This is my first post here, I just wanted to post my findings and solution to two problems that I was having with my 92 96 Prelude F22B.
The first problem was an erratic idle, I fixed this by cleaning my IACV following a guide I found here, so for those of you who are still wondering if this is one of the causes of your erratic idle, you should start here. But, I found that this only fixes the erratic idle when your motor hasn't heated up quite alot.
That brings me to the other problem, an idle drop. Upon reving the motor about 5000 rpm and releasing, the idle makes a dip to about 150 rpm and then returns to the idle rpm. If fixed this by removing my FITV and cleaning it thoroughly, so for those of you with an idle dip, start here. And that takes me back to the erractic idle, cleaning this valve also stopped the erratic idle when the motor has heated up greatly.
So I just wanted to confirm for any persons that might be in doubt about how to go about solving these two problems. And I found both of the solutions on Honda Tech, i'm grateful for this community and look forward to contributing.
