Default 5th gen immobilizer removal?

all right i have a 6th gen accord 98-02 accord, i've swapped the h22a4 into it and i have the 99 prelude ecu that i got off of egay, and now ive been told by my buddy at the dealer that i can't do anything without the red key and the icu and ignition immobilizer ring from the lude, I AM NOT A CAR THIEF!, i'm just desperate to get my swap done! i've been told it is possible to remove the immobilizer chip from inside the ecu, it's an p5m ecu and ive been told something about hic1, but i'm not sure. PLEASE PLEASE HELP! or could i put the immobilizer chip out of the accord ecu into the lude ecu, i'm skilled enough to do the soldering! just need some info thanks to anyone who can help! please pm me for privacy since ive witnessed that to be a big deal here on ht and i wouldnt want to offend anyone! thanks again!

well i got the info from a different website alltogether, but i can desolder my imm in the h22 ecu and install the one out of my accord's ecu into it and it will work fine! no need to remove the imm totally but just swap the imm from the car you're swapping the engine into and the ecu that you're using will work great! foot note( this is for 97' to 01' obd2 cars)

i've already read this thread and it didn't help a bit, i know where the damn thing is, i want to remove it or disable it somehow, i read a thread that a guy was selling a p5m ecu with a doctronics imm disable chip, can anyone elaborate on this item, or it's availability???? i bought a p5p for now but it's just another headache with it's atts or traction control system. so definitely still looking for more info, thanks any how vinuneuro.

if anyone had figured out a good way to bypass the immobilizer there would be people offering it as a service. so far no one seems to do that. One place claims they could but it would leave a check engine light on all the time. That other thread posted says how you can swap the chips at least. Worst case you will not be able to drive teh car! The other option is to get a jdm obd2 ecu though, i have been told they do not have immobilizers.

The immobilizer issues suck and even after 10years appears nobody has figured this out yet?

I know a place in cali that flashes the ecu and provides a red key for about three hundred dollars but you have to be a licensed locksmith to get them to do it, which I happen to be. If all else fails I may be able to help you. Also there is a shop in my town that does it but they want more than what it costs to send it to cali.

well i know that it can be bypassed cause a guy in ny said he had a doctronics imm disable chip, i've been emailing back and forth with katman but he hasn't updated me on anything yet! he's got a test mule and is trying to figure this out for himself, probably to turn it into a service, which is fine with me, but if anyone has heard of this doctronics chip i'm definitely interested! keep this thread alive man we gotta figure this out for the guys that are trying to do swaps!

sorry bro, nothing new on my end.
For now, your best luck is a doctronics immobilizer chip or run a 96 prelude VTEC ecu.

The prelude and accord use the same key blank: HD106PT, and obviosly the same transmitting ring aroiund the ignition. All you need to do is find a locksmith where you live that will send the ecu to be flashed and have a red key programmed. Then they can program your key to the prelude ecu for you. If you cannot find anyone near you to do it I can help you like I said before. I have never done this with a 6th gen accord with prelude ecu but it should work. I have done it with preludes plenty of times.

If you still can't figure it out, you can always get an OBD-I ECU and harness and tune it. No more immobilizer.

prelude imm setup is totally different than the accords, yes the keys are the same but the lude uses a special red key that is totally seperate from the ignition key and and is required for programming the ecu, and since i bought the ecu on ebay i don't have the vin from the car that it came out of! and as far as converting to obd1 thats all good and fine but i'm looking for a different alternative, plus i want to push the agenda so that maybe some of the electronically advanced guys can try to figure this out, it could prove to be beneficial and cheaper in the long run! (buy a new ecu & jumper<disable chip) this could work! and i think somebody has the answer! thanks for the info guys and not trying to be rude just persistent! oh and i've already got the car running on a p5p ecu, so this isn't a pressing matter anymore! just want to figure this out! thanks

300?

thats the cost of a new immobilizer with blank red key

replace imm..
cut red key to the existing key you have
reprogram other keys

yes I have but have never ordered from them as they are in the EU. I'm thinking about ordering a few of these IMM chips though as I do get IMMobilizer removal requests periodically from OBD2 prelude swapees.

SNIPER! dont fing talk if you don't know what your talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you read this thread thoroughly you would have read this post by me (<U>so cancel that when i pulled the two apart the imm for the lude is a 10 pin and the one in the accord is a 12 pin )</U> also the imm systems are totally different from car(lude) to car(cord), unless you feel like rewiring all of the stuff for the accord to accept the prelude imm setup, then go for it! if you haven't physically inspected everything don't assume that it's that easy or you can just go down to honda and buy the parts and they magically fit the accord!!! ive done the swap into the accord, (98'-02') have you? obviously not!!!!!

Holy crap, calm down. All he said was that a new immobilizer that would fit your ECU costs $300.
