Default 4th gen fog light project...not JDM!

Some of you have probably seen it on other sites, but here is the post from beginning to end, enjoy:

Alright, here we go kids, hold on tight! I've had a little time to work on this and there is a lot more "engineering" than I had anticipated.
So here is the "write-up". I hope someone else is inspired by this and maybe finds easier way to do things, but this is what I've done so far:

The great unveiling...they are E36 fog lights (a.k.a. BMW 3-series). This is the DEPO set w/ wiring/relays/etc. HOWEVER, do not let this fool you,
their wiring harness does not include the wiring to plug into the back of the fog lights! Yeah, how stupid is that?!

Bumper cut outs for fogs:

Channel chop of the rear of the fogs:

Pic of test fitment (as seen before):

Brackets I'm using:

Modification of those brackets for mounting:

Modification of fascia (with a hammer) for plug fitment:

Now, they are mounted to the metal bumper (not the plastic bumper cover). Actually mounted to the brackets that mount the bumper to the car.
Maybe the following pics will explain better. The brackets are the same as pictured above, just had my bro well in a gusset for extra support.

Driver's side

Through where the turn signal is (dremel bit my bumper, but notice it notched out at the bottom of the fog light?)

Passenger side

Up close

Front pic, not wire yet, still trying to figure out the stock relay rework so I can use them w/ or w/out headlights/brights. If anyone has a nice writeup on that, it would be great!

Drumroll please........the finale.
First: A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE PIONEERS BEFORE ME!

Thats everyone who posted anything, like the factory installation manual, to those who figured out the rewire for the JDM switch into the USDM wiring, so THANK YOU!

These are currently wired in "stock". Only turn on with low beams, turn off with high beams. I've got the rework write-up saved and may do that sometime, but I'm just pumped they're in, they work, and they look beautiful if I do say so myself.

Without further blah blah blah, here's the pics with commentary.

YAY! I'm giddy like a schoolgirl right now, so stoked how they turned out!

This is the light pattern they threw down...with no adjustment...can you believe it? Woot!

Few pics...car is not exactly clean, but hey, I've never claimed perfection

BONUS PICS! (notice the LED tails!)

Thanks for your support folks, I tried to cover it all, but if I left questions let me know.

K

no wiring diagram needed bro, they wire in through all the OEM wiring! Using the fuses in the fuse block, plug in a relay, wire in a switch, and whoalla.
