Issue with starting 1997 Honda Prelude 5spd:

Key in ignition, turn key, no crank.

Things I have tried preventatively:

Tested ignition with non-chipped key. Override appears to work properly.

Changed battery cables.

Disabled clutch override switch on pedal. Also checked to see if the button stopper on the pedal assembly that tells the clutch override the pedal is depressed. Everything is intact.

Turn Key, no crank. Anyone have this problem?

OK, got it figured out!! Took the starter to O'Reilly and the hillbilly behind the counter asked what the problem was, and I told him I'd like my Honda starter tested and his response was:

"That's your first problem!"

I found the dodge neon in the parking lot and slashed the tires (JK!!) before I headed off to the O'Reilly in the HOOD!!

The guy there was awesome! Tested the starter. Passed. Tested again, Passed, and said, "I'm gonna test it one more time to be sure." FAILED and never passed again! Went up to Honda with a Honda uniform I found at a thrift store (name tag says Jerry) and they gave me a discount on a new starter!! YUP!
