Default 1991 prelude si timing belt snapped

hey i was driving my winter beater today(91 Prelude si) and my timing belt snapped. Is the motor completly screwed? i heard about interference motors and such. Does this one have one? im pretty sure the motor is a b21a. please let me know because i love this car and i wanna drive it in the winter

yeah, you might be out a couple valves, you'll have to pull the head and see whats going on

Remove the head and take it to a machine shop. Have them check it out because you could have bent some valves.

Alright, here's the story. I found this same 91 Prelude for sale on craigslist. So I came to this forum to see what could be wrong with the car if a timing belt breaks, and I found this thread. Which is about the same car, by the same person.

So instead of just starting a new thread, I'll just ask here. If the valves are gone or bent, how much would it cost to replace them?

Come over to http://www.preludepower.com we have the most in depth information on this gen prelude in the 3rd gen section and also the new aftermarket support for it as well.

As for your valve work, that all depends on your local mechanic and their shop hours. If you can get them to cut you break on the labor then it will be cheaper. But come on over to pp.com we have writeups and pics to show you what you can do yourself.
