Default What kind of battery do you use?

I'm seeing a pretty wide price range for motorcycle batteries, so I was wondering what brand do you get?

I find the cheapest online, with regular maintenance never experience any battery failure on my motos, even on my Chinese scooter's OEM battery. Winter time when temps. can stay below freezing for a week to ten days, I just keep the batteries charged up every few days.

Yeah I was kind thinking along those lines. The site I found Yuasas on had them super expensive, over $100. Might as well get a $29.95 battery, and you still come out ahead if you have to replace it in a few years. I dunno, still need input.

for a cheap beater bike ill just run a 30 dollar battery from walmart.

i run a speedcell ss battery for my 600rr, weighs 1lb, lol. alot of people are making these batteries for the same price or cheaper than your average yuasa battery so u might as go with the lithuim cause there light as hell and give u more room under your seat...

They sell motocross brand which is made by yuasa and I've gotten three different batteries from them for my dirtbike, atv, and also a friend's atv. Never had a problem.

Yuasa is the prob. the best battery you can get and is the oem's choice from factory.

I caved and got a Wal-Mart battery for it. $30. It was about 3/4" shorter than the old battery so I had to make a cardboard pad to raise the battery back up to reach the cables, lol.

Lot's of different thoughts on battieries. No doubt that Yuasa makes the highest quality battery. I have seen them last 15 years! Yes they are expensive in most cases they are worth it. The new Bikemaster True Gel battery is proving itself and seems to be priced right, but not available for all applications. If your bike sits alot between rides Yuasa seems to have an advantage. The use of a battery tender during storage is a huge help!

The OE Yuasa in my 2008 Zuma only lasted 2 years. Not sure what happened there. I fire up my 2 wheeled vehicles regularly in the winter to keep the batteries up.

I use MOTYDesign's 8 cell for my 600 - very lightweight. Didn't have the greatest customer experience with him, however.
The RC is on OEM, I figure they are good for a couple of years - I'd change them out even if they are still cranking. I've been left stranded in the mountains before with a sudden crap out.

-i had one on the ducati, learned the hard way with use of a trickle charger.

-now use 8(eight) A123 Systems LiFepo4 lithium-ion cells in a plastic carrier wrapped in duct tape. 550g. they'll last a full year with no charge, 15min 12v/2amp charge is all that's required.

I run a interstate wet battery. I will never run any kind of gel cell battery because after it dies once its pretty much done for that battery

8 Li-Fe-Po4 as well. Absolutely the way to go until it gets close to freezing. It only takes me about 30 seconds to pop the seat and disconnect the quick disconnect, and I pop it in my pocket if it's below 40F. Otherwise, it starts even after leaving the bike sitting for 3 months (which I do often, working overseas).
