throttle sticking (dirtbike related)
I took my bike out for a ride on thur. dont forget i live in new york so it was about 15 degrees. Bike was absolutly perfect at first. I went into the orchard and was riding real slow cause its a sheet of ice, yes i know its dumb, esp. on a two stroke. Anyway i went to stop and i just tipped the bike over cause the back end slid out i know really dumb but there was nothing i could do, it was ice. Picked the bike up and it was fine, then half way home the throttle started sticking so i actually had to manually twist it foward to make it release. Got it home took the grip off and there looks to be liguid under the plastic throttle that goes over your handlebar. when i squeeze the plastic you can see the liquid move. so my qeustion is, is there suppose to be liquid in there? i think thats whats freezing and making the throttle stick open?

Re: throttle sticking (mugenspoongsr)
There should not be any liquid between the plastic throttle tube and the handlebar. Clean the bar end really well and the inside of the tube and spin it on the bar before putting the throttle cable on to make sure it's free. Then pull on the cable so that it opens the throttle and make sure it snaps back easily. Before you put it all back together take some paper towels and stuff them in the end of the bar to create a plug, that way if you fall on the other side crap can't get into the bar and travel over to the throttle side and screw up the action of the throttle.
