Honda Rebel 250 - Possible earthing problem re: low-beam headlight
Firstly, greetings! I didn't know there was a Honda forum and have had to struggle to learn how to work with my bike over the last few months.
Hopefully, now that I have found this home, things can get a little easier.
First problem: My low-beam light won't come on.
Initially, I had a problem where when I turned the ignition the lights wouldn't come on at all. If I jiggled the key in the ignition they would come on.
So, I bought another ignition switch and changed it myself. The switch works but there was still no light when I switched her on.
In addition, the high-beam indicator light on the dash would come on as soon as I turned the key and couldn't be switched off.
So, I pulled apart the section near the left handle and cleaned her out. Sweet, the indicator light for high-beam now works as intended.
Still, however, no lights.
So, I checked the wires running from the left handle down to the headlight and found one was broken. I used an electrical joiner thingy I got from a sparky at work and now I can use high-beams.
Still, no low-beams. I checked the other wires in the same section to see if another was cut or broken. Nothing - all seem fine. So, the sparky at work tells me that it is a possible earthing problem. We pulled the headlight off and used a multi-metre to check if there was any charge coming into the bulb. The high-beam had an earth charge but the low-beam didn't. Unfortunately, even when we earthed the low-beam ourselves, the light still wouldn't work.
Ok, so does anyone have any hints as to what I should do or what the problem might be?
If more info is needed, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Not trying to be a dick...but...you never said you did this so....have you check if the bulb is [freak]ed up? Or maybe it's not the right one or it's severed right where the wire goes in the bulb? Just a tip cuz I didn't see you post any of that. Good luck!
