Default Gutting/Cutting/Shortening... stock can what do you think?

I have heard over at kawiforums. The best way to get a good sound out of your stock exhaust is to drill the rivets out from the end cap, remove it, cut about 2in off the end of the can and recap it with new rivets. What do you guys think? Or is there a better way? I might try this because i have an extra stocker laying around. And I cant yet afford the sato system I want. So for now... Just looking for input.

Im about to do this to my spare SATO can, Nothing like cutting up a $450 Can!

The reason I want to try it is to see if it will hold up in a crash better, Less sticking out...

What I did with mine is I drilled out the endcap, drilled holes with a 1/4 inch drill bit about 1/2 inch apart all around the end of the silencer and rivetted the endcap back on. Quieter than a slip on, way louder than stock, and 100% free.
