Default CBR 600 F3 vs CBR 600 F4

Just wondering what the main differences were between the two bikes? Is it worth it to pay a little more and get an F4 over the F3?

In 99 they changed the cbr 600 line alot. The f1/f2/f3 all had steel frames and swingarms, the f4 and f4i have aluminum ones. They redesigned the bodywork, the engine etc.

Basically the engine is a tweaked/improved version of the f3. In terms of powerwise, the change is not too large. I dont know exact figures for the f4.

One thing to keep in mind, the f3 was made from 95-98 so parts are plentiful, and many parts from an f2 will work. The f4 was made for 2 yrs 99-00, then in 01 they changed to the f4i which is fuel injected and has more sleek bodywork. I am not familiar with parts interchangeablilty between the two.

Good luck if you decide to buy, the cbr line are solid bikes.

would you say its worth it to pay a little more for an F4? Do those improvements make it much better of a bike over the F3?

it depends on how much money you are talking about. Word is the f2/f3 line are the more comfortable then the f4/f4i line. I guess honda started giving up a little comfort for performance. Replacing the seat on the f4-f4i is a major improvement. I would give the edge to the f4 because it has a little more power then the f3, and it may be a little lighter due to the aluminum frame. If you can get a good deal on the f3, I say get the f3. If the f4 is only 100 bucks more, i would say get the newer bike.

They are both great bikes. You cant go wrong either way.
