Default Caught some low life scoping my bike... after my dirtbike got stolen. Security Ideas

I will let you know right away this thread doesn't deliver as far as revenge goes. Here is the story about a month ago my dirtbike got stolen out of my back yard. It was my fault I didn't really do enough to secure it basically just locking the steering and parking it in with cars. Unfortunately that just means the thieves dented my car badly when they stole it. After that my brother and I started parking out bikes in the the garage temporarily until we could get a good system to lock them. So now there is a piece of 1/2" thick chain secured into the ground with concrete five feet deep then we got motorcycle locks with inch thick steel cable to lock the wheel to the chain as well as the other bikes wheel. Also we got a motion sensor with an alarm that goes off in the room with a window overlooking the bikes.

Last night the, the third night we had them outside the motion sensor alarm started going off at 3:30. Sure enough someone was out there taking a look at them. Unfortunately we didn't see the person until they were walking away from our house. My dad brother and I immediately threw on clothes and grabbed baseball bats. Somehow by the time we got out there the person disappeared. We spent forever looking for him but he was gone. Needless to say we were pissed and if I was scared before I am even more scared now obviously these bikes are marked I am sure it's only a matter of time before they come back.

Please help me secure these storing them inside is not really an option we have no room in our garage and six cars in the driveway so outside is really the only option. I am going to be getting gps tracking but until that comes does anyone have any tips or tricks to secure a bike. I never thought I would ever have to worry about this in my neighborhood but I guess I was wrong and the only responsible thing to do is take action quickly. I would like to have a shotgun but I am in college living with my parent's trying to save some money and my dad does not approve.

Cliffs:

Bike security state your suggestions

Get a gun, or get a pit bull and set it loose in the yard or tie it close to bikes if you have unfenced yard.

my cousin had this same problem with his fourwheeler, actually went through three of them before getting a storage unit nearby. unfortunately the best advice i can give you if you dont want to get a storage unit is to get lojack.

dirtbikes aren't that wide i would find a way to store my bikes even if it means taking the handle bars off or other parts.,no excuse to leave them out side...also try video taping to catch them in the act..

I guess i didn't make that very clear the bikes they didn't steal the first time are r6's and they get ridden every day so taking handle bars off isn't an option. The dirt bike was a lesson learned, as a matter of fact I will make money off the insurance since i got an amazing deal on it. But losing my r6 would be bad.

I thought about video tapes but the only night cameras I could find that don't cost an arm and a leg have an led to illuminate the area which would give it away. But I haven't looked too much into this yet I would like to get some cameras just haven't found the right ones yet.

If you managed to park them inside the temporarily then you can park them inside permanently. It all depends on your priorities.

they were parked inside while i was out of town for a few months and the weather was bad, now they are getting ridden every day. My garage is a 2 car garage with just about any tool you can think of inside, on top of that we have to have two cars in the garage because we have six cars and the driveway can only hold four without them sticking into the street. Parking them in the garage is completely impractical and nearly impossible.
