Re: (G-stack double R)
If the price is right, and you don't expect a solid bike, go for it. If you want something reliable and don't want to potentially have to fix a lot of things, stay away. But it might last thousands of miles without problems, who knows.
Anyways, I painted mine flat black, using spray cans. Basically, I sanded the fairings with 220, sprayed them with numerous coats of flexible primer, then sanded with 320 or 400, then sprayed the black on (make sure it's heavy enough to not dry too fast, but without runs). Did some minor wetsanding (had some spots dry too fast) then sprayed more black. Probably 4-5 coats of black. No real good pics yet, but here are a few:
Before the bodywork on the tail was finished:
I'll get some better pics this weekend, hopefully with the new front wheel and signals installed

Re: (Mr.Chow)
i rattle canned my first bike. it went from this:
tp this:
i spent about $100 in paint and materials. it looked pretty decent for the first few weeks and then it started looking like ****. imo, its not worth it if you want your bike to look presentable over time. you'd be better off just prepping the plastics and then taking it to a shop and let them shoot it for a couple hundred bucks.

It's a custom 600rr tail, sv1000 taillight, 1000rr fender, f4i gauges, f4i upper and lowers, f3 built into an f2 frame (still have to put the f3 wheel on) with a 637cc 13:1compression motor, and some other things along with countless hours of work. Race header with a shorty exhaust, cept it's a little too loud for the neighbors. I'll see how long they hold out until I get complaints
